Taking Europeana to the next level: launching the data space

At the occasion of the previous 2021 Europeana conference, the European Commission announced the Recommendation on a common European data space for cultural heritage (DS), the new framework policy for accelerating the digital transformation of the sector, particularly digitisation and reuse. The DS will grow with Europeana at its core, supporting the work achieved by thousands of institutions during the last decade. In her welcome speech, Rehana Schwinninger-Ladak, Head of the Digital for Culture Unit at the European Commission, will speak about the work which lies ahead to take the initiative to the next level while taking into account some of the most pressing challenges such as the current energy crisis and the climate change.
