3D and Augmented Reality (AR) apps can unfold great potential. Well-designed AR apps can lead to better learning success among students as they engage them through interaction, contextualisation, and captivating storytelling. They allow students to build a special relationship with their cultural heritage that can spark a lifelong interest in art and history.
However, this depends heavily on a suitable app design that keeps the realities of teaching and the expectations of digital natives in mind, and understands what students and teachers truly need. It is only then that the positive effects of teaching with 3D models and augmented reality will come to fruition.
Join and find out more about a flexible app framework co-created by the German Maritime Museum and local schools to allow museums to co-develop educational tools with schools, combining the perspectives of education, research, design, and programming and testing the app directly in the classroom.
